I've never owned a vehicle since new but I've always had it treated religiously with krown. The ram I've had is since new and just to show that if you krown it every year religiously, rust is not a problem.

2017 with 120xxxkm here in salty canada. Body and chassis remains mint.

What does your Mechanic think about crawling under your undercarriage.

Does he see you pulling into the driveway & start donning his oldest coveralls ?

I would have it on my Ram if i lived where the weather was damp & cold.

Looks good man!! I just fluid filmed my truck last weekend in preparation for winter/salt. Doing the wife's suv this coming weekend.

I personally would much rather get greasy working on mine then dealing with rusted/frozen nuts and bolts. Nothing worse then having a rusty bolt snap and your fist going full force into whatever is in its way.

@Gero - that's looking great underneath. :waytogo: Do you do the treatment yourself? I see you've got a nice garage and lift (me too, nothing beats a lift in the garage, haha).

I don't do it myself because I don't have all the attachments for the hard to reach areas. It's also messy af. Our local krown does it for 120cash which is well worth it. The inconvenience is the time it takes to schedule.

I do have a lift and it's great . My only regret is not making the garage a little bigger!

I'm a huge Krown proponent!
Been using them for 25 years at least.

Best time of year to have the application done is late spring to early summer so the product can use the warmth of the seasons to thoroughly creep its way through to every nook and cranny.

I get all ours done at the end of August but I may push that up to the end of July next year so it gets exposed to more hot summer weather for it to creep.

My truck randomly dripped in my garage this past weekend a full 8 weeks past when I had it coated.

I have never seen it do that before.

I generally dont do it in the spring or summer because the coating keeps creeping onto the pabel after I wash and wax the truck.

Nothing worse than spending a day to wash, clay bar and wax and having it all oily in a few days.

One of the things I admired about my 1978 F-150 was the galvanize treatment Ford did on cargo beds and lower body panels. The 1978 GMC C20 my FIL drove was rusted completely thru in 8 years …and he even paid Extra to the Dealer for that anti-rust treatment GM dealers sold to new vehicle buyers back then. (Holes drilled throughout the body and frame and oily-something sprayed inside, then the holes plugged with plastic buttons. Ugly and ineffective as well.)

Had a 2012 RAM1500 with 350000km on it, was Krowned, had no rust. Have new BigHorn, did it too at same Krown dealer. My mechanic said that this particular Krown dealer had been caught cheating on the application, using less coating, not getting into crevaces, doing fast shoddy job. While Krown is still my first choice, this dealer isn't. Just a caution for wherever you go.

Die hard Woolwax and Fluid Film user. There’s zero rust on my 2018. Central Illinois here and there’s no mercy with salt on the roads. I lost two vehicles to rust destruction. Never again. I treat my vehicles DIY 2x a year.

^^^True story. I drive another 15 minutes to avoid the Krown closest to me because they got junk reviews. That being said, big shout out to Trenton, Ontario Krown!!
