Thermostat Replacement Question

My 2014 6.4L (48k miles) is no longer getting to the proper operating temp.

While I understand that a cooler running engine may be considered a good thing by some, this is resulting in code P2181 - Cooling System Performance.

I believe that the t-stat is not closing properly and would like to replace it.
Unfortunately... it seems to be on a nationwide back order. The part number is 4893177AC.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Is the OEM aware of this issue?

I have the same issue took me two months to get one. I just have been waiting for warmer weather to install it. Dealer hear told me that when they fail on these rams it’s 90% of the time stuck open.

That link to rock auto is out of stock Cracker Jack.... obviously Rock Auto was the first place I looked.

I have an appointment with dealer next Wednesday because there is a safety recall due as well.

I will post my experience here.
