So we got about 2" of snow here today and I ran out for lunch. My driveway is paved and a very slight uphill grade. I pulled into my neighbors gravel driveway across the alley to back into my driveway. Very slight grade...almost level. Went to back up and sat and spun. Had to put it in 4WD to get backed out. Put it back in 2WD once I got going and went to back into my garage where the apron is slightly more grade. Started spinning there too and almost had to use 4WD again. Tonight went back out and did it all again. Didn't quite need 4WD in the neighbors driveway tonight but almost. I spun a few feet till I hit the alley. Tires have 13,600 miles on them and still quite a bit of tread left. First time I have driven this truck in snow.

Yup. I replaced mine after 25k. Still more than half their life left, but I couldn’t take the lack of traction anymore.

I have Goodyear SRA on my Ram.Seem okay for a highway commuter tire but not good for anything else, and they are wearing fairly fast and I dont drive that aggressively. At a loss as to which tires would be best with mostly road use and all season running around.

Yes, the Firestone Transforce tires suck at traction. I live in FL and after about 15K miles they become dangerously slick in the rain. Very light acceleration causes the rear end to fishtail. Switched to Michelin Defender LTX and am very happy. I have 45K on them and their wet traction is pretty close to when they were new. They are warranted for 50K and I don't see an issue getting to 50K before the wear bars start showing.

The Firestone Transforce are bad tires for anything but dry blacktop roads. I switch to BFG KO2 tires for the winter & only use the Firestone’s in the summer.

All Firestone tires suck!
Remember the ford explorer??
Constantly flipping over cause of the Firestone tires...
F a Firestone tire.
Added the Firestone company wouldn't exist it it hadn't been for Henry Ford and his cousin. Henry financially backed his cousin to make the tires cause Henry needed tires for his automobile company.

My PW is very nose heavy, so perhaps yours is also. Any slightly wet surface, sand, mud, it’ll spin in 2wd in a heartbeat. I have Duratracs. Next set will be KO, but I don’t really expect any great improvement due to the weight bias.
Look at the Nitto exo Grappler review on here this morning. After his review I'll be getting a set.

I remember the Firestone tread separation and truck rollovers back some years ago.Saw a few separations and accidents in Atlanta. The entire tread all way around the tire came off on ones I saw.Firestone blamed Ford quality and truck design

Long before the Explorer deal was the Firestone 721 mess. Their ag tires are good, but that's about it.

Yes, those transforce were worthless. I was so glad to get some coopers on. And very impressed with the traction.

I like Coopers. My son has the same truck as me and got stuck a few times on the pipelines at work so his company bought him new K02's when his truck was at 12,000 miles. He never got stuck after that. I will stick with mine for now until it gets unbearable. Just sucks that they are so bad.

I was a fan of Cooper. However the last set needed 14 oz. to balance one tire and another was off the scale for the machine. Sent all 4 back and got the Michelins. The worst Michelin needed 2 oz.

I pulled my Transforces and sold them in the garage sale. Michelin Defender LTX M/S for me. Had these tires on 3 vehicles now.

Those tires suck! I got maybe 20k out of them. I put on a set of Cooper HT3's and they're the best I've ever owned. Great traction in light snow, dry and wet pavement. I got close to 60k out of my first set. I might have gotten more if I did more than one tire rotation and at 40k lol.

I'm not in a Ram yet, but I will be soon. Thats why I joined this great forum while I'm looking. That said, I also swear by the Michelin's. Currently on the second set on my F150. First set got 90,000 miles and so far I have about 50k on the second with plenty of life left. Probably 80% hwy miles.
