Things Stellantis would rather invest in over their North American brands

Slightly over $200 million in a company pursing electric VTOL aircraft. Agreement in place for up to $400 million for building out manufacturing.

But they can't put money into a V8 competitive with Chevy and Ford's 1/2 ton offerings, a competitive midsize truck, an HD refresh... :D

electric airplanes.....i wonder how heavy the battery is and how powerful the motors have to be to give it enough lift?

i remember our government invested billions in a solar energy company that went bankrupt several months later. I sure hope Stellantis is making the right decision.

Somebody's brother-in-law involved I'd guess. How can the board of directors sign off on such ridiculous folly.

No idea, but the stock is probably being manipulated. It's become a meme stock like GameStop with some wild swings based on nothing substantial.

I can't imagine their business model makes sense. "Air taxi" in big congested cities. How many people could possibly we willing and able to afford to buy a ride in one of these to save 45 minutes in traffic.

There are upper limits but those limitations are most restrictive for larger aircraft. For now, larger aircraft will be hybrid electric and tailored for short domestic flights.

eVTOLs have more wiggle room

Oh boy just wait till they start bursting into flames mid air. Lol if transport canada had any brains they'd put a stop to this nonsense asap. Ever notice how planes don't have any emissions? That's because emissions are more prone to failure than most other components so no emissions is a safety feature.

Also another side note... Who's going to pay to train all these aircraft technicians, write new safety manuals and
train transport authorities to enforce safety protocols. What about how cold it is at 10,000ft that'll kill a battery fast as well. So many concerns.

Careful now, that's using common sense and logic.
