In November of 2019 I was looking at used F150s, cruised the lot at the FCA dealer and looked at a RAM 1500 Laramie just out of curiosity. Long story short, the Ram will be 3 in Novemeber has 42000 miles and zero complaints. Oil changes at 10% oil life (usually about 8500 mi.) I do my own changes and use full synthetic and WIX filters. Recently pulled a loaded 24' enclosed car hualer from Michigan to Florida, no problems, handled the load like it wasn't there, bad news 7-8mpg. Heard diesels aren't much better loaded. The OEM tires on mine were Bridgestone and I didn't care for them recently replaced with Continental Terrain Contact AT. This truck will be with me for a long time. Part of the decision was also from our other vehicle a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan RT. 11 yrs old 200,000 miles and is still an awesome car.
This truck tows very well but I recommend an aftermarket trailer brake controller if you tow.

I may trade in my 2015 RAM 1500 5.7 in next year or so. Also considering going back to a Grand Cherokee. In either case I'm wondering when the hurricane straight 6 turbo will be offered in the RAM? Can't seem to locate that info. I know it is already in the Jeep Wagoneer and performance even in that heavier vehicle seems impressive.

I have a '19 laramie 1500 ccsb with many options it had a base cost of 45,000 and 57,000 msrp..I looked at a new version of the same truck today...actually without a cpl. items..33gal tank and e-locker and it 's base was 56,000 and msrp 70,000. quite a jump in just a few years. for almost the same price I can get a gas 2500 laramie so that's what I am shopping for.

Obviously there have been some updates since I bought my truck (power-fold tow mirrors, uConnect 5, etc.) but the MSRP for a comparable truck to mine is up $9K for a 2023 (up $4K from 2022).

It’s not just RAM. The good news is your resale value isn’t sinking as it might normally.

They want us to take out a 2nd mortgage for a truck loan (10 years), essentially. to keep their high profitability.

Screw that - I be milking my 2017 as long as possible. They gonna bankrupt truck buyers if this keeps up.

It will just force the majority into a lease to get a new vehicle; then the dealership gets the truck back and you're left with nothing at the end of the lease. The dealer then sells the used truck (more affordable payments after a ~20% depreciation) and leases you another new one.

Lather, rinse, repeat.
