Don't do it...it's just way too early. Truck is 4 months old.

Besides, if you wanted to do it, you would have done it already.

I would see what you can get for a trade. I just traded a 2013 Lone Star(Big Horn) CC 4x4 and I had the 8.4a, bucket seats, 7" cluster display, and some other options. I had it for a year and 4 months. I owed $29,600 and got it paid on the trade and got my $2700 for the warranty and GAP back a few weeks later. I picked up a 14 2wd reg cab express black edition that stickered at $29780 for $23,670 OTD. I liked my crew but I never used the back seat or the 4wd and it got ****** gas mileage. The bench seat do suck but it saved me $80 a month and I get better gas mileage.
For me it was a OK deal since I walked away losing nothing on my trade and $300 for the down payment I used to buy it. I would see how much your loss will be. You may want to keep it a little longer since the 14 prices will drop even more after the 15's are out. At least they do here in Houston. I know here the Laramie's drop a lot because there are usually a lot of them left when the new models come out. I think some dealers still have 13's left new. Just my .02.

Actually BOLD one, yes.
This forum has great people and I value their opinion. Otherwise why would I start a thread?
Nobody has to be a **** but fire away. Someone already mentioned just replace seats. Share the wealth Bold Adventurer.

Reading this thread you sound like someone who already made up his mind, you want the new truck. And you don't really care how bad of a financial decision it is. In your first post you told us the bank is "iffy" about giving you a loan. Sounds like you can't afford it. Do you need us to tell you "Don't spend more than you earn."

If that's what you want, I'd do this. For starters, don't rush anything. You need to put the brakes on your current excitement and think it through. Make sure you find exactly what you want. And be sure you are not buying based on emotion.

Second, ask yourself, Why the F do you have to buy another brand new one? Do you just enjoy being the person who finances and takes the hit on a depreciating asset that's going to lose most of it's value the second you drive it off the lot?

Third, can you find it in a late model 2013 or 2014 that someone else already returned? They will have eaten the depreciation hit for you. Usually under 15K miles, but generally will have 5-10K off the price the last guy paid.

Fourth, research your trade. I'm sure there is more than one Dodge dealership around you. Find out whose willing to give you the best value.

Fifth, if you can't get a decent trade, look into refinancing your car loan. Do it right before your most current payment is do. Most times you'll have 48 days before your first payment when you refinance. Time it right and you can usually squeeze in 3 months of no car payments. This gives you time to pay yourself your car payment and turn it into a down payment and go get your new truck.

Lastly, why didn't you get all this the first time around? Making bad decisions just something you regularly do?

I'm not personally in the habit of spending 30+ K on something I'm not going to like in 4 months.

Good luck with all that.

Or go with the refi as mentioned and use the grace period money to buy the seats you desire for your current Express, and just keep it.

All flaming aside, the bottom line is you do what makes you happy. It may not make a lot of sense that you'd want to take such a big hit and trade off a brand new truck for another brand new truck, but it's your money and your comfort level. I wouldn't do it, but it's not me considering it. Good luck whatever you decide but at least think it through before you pull the trigger.

Well I hadn't made up my mind when I started thread. If you don't know how to read, your not the kind of guy I value opinion. The power wagon the bank was iffy on. There is a 9000 dollar difference from power wagon to regular Laramie.
I also previously commented saying the power wagon dream lives to see another day, as in because of the help I got in replies, I'm not doing PW.
My trade is being appraised right now and I'll see what the numbers come out to be. If they are willing to give 25K, i walk, no harm no foul.
I'm not a kid with a new big toy, there is no "current excitement". Will I do what I want, when I want? YES! Anyone that let's someone else make their financial decisions is a moron...lol
I'm not the kind of guy that feels the need to account for my actions to ANYONE, so I won't reiterate anymore what has been said in earlier posts.

Thank you to the rest of the people that didn't have a problem helping. We will see today how it plays out.

Financially, it's a horrible decision to trade it in now after 4 months. I think you said you owed >$33k on it and getting offerred $30.5k. I think that's obvious to everybody, and it's also obvious that a bad decision was made in getting a truck 4 months ago that wasn't what you wanted.

So, now that you have this situation, you either (a) live with it, or (b) change it. IF you can afford to change it, and still put away money for a rainy day and retirement and all that stuff, then go for it. Life's a learning process - learn from the previous bad decision.

Just my 2 cents.

He wouldn't budge on price. So I will just keep my truck and add some mods :)

CHOPSTICK- I was willing to take on the additional added amount to my payment. If you want to keep your vehicle for 4 months or 14 years it doesn't matter to me. I'm doing pretty good financially and employment wise, I'm fine though thanks for the advice.

Anyone that puts a nickel into their vehicles deserves to be told financial advice apparently. I don't know your finances like you don't know mine. My feel bads aren't hurt but some of you guys Crack me up. If I told you I have 100k in small bills buried somewhere would you still tell me I'm an idiot for choosing how to spend my money? What if my 401k is North of 400K right now? How I spend my hard earned money is my problem, not anyone else.

Again, thanks to those that didn't flip a wig and helped discuss this. I'll filter what I post for now on. I thought better of our members, shame on me.

I don't know which dealer you went to, but I would go to a few different ones. I went to about 6 different dealers before I found one that would deal on a price. The one I ended up going to (parkway) was great for the sale just the after sale service wasn't that good.

I saw Yaz at Parkway.
He gave me best trade in price but refused to go below EP.
He is one of their top salesman. Assuming he did well this month and didn't really need the sale.
I'm going to order the leveling stuff for truck and figure out seat issue. My truck rides no different than Laramie with exception of comfy Laramie seats...lol
**** I might just put some beads thingy in my seat or some Meijer brand seat cushion.

I saw Todd Trainer there, I'm not supposed they didn't go below employee price, not many places will especially if you don't get the employee price to begin with. **** Huvares in Richmond is the number one ram dealer in michigan, if you talk to the right salesman there you can get a really good deal from what I've been told at work. I ended up talking to the Internet Sales guy who ended up telling me that they are the only one with trucks and if you want one you are going to pay for it, so if you go there don't see him.
I have an outdoorsman and didn't notice a difference between my seat and the express which is what I was originally going to get. Maybe try going the katzskin route and see if they can reshape the seat in the process? I'm sure the Laramie seats won't work because your truck won't run the heated or cooled parts, I'm also sure they want an astronomical price for them.
