Hello all. I guess I realized I have been posting here and never made an introduction. I'm from NE Indiana, lived here my whole life (but have taken vacations essentially coast to coast). I just purchased an '04 1500 with the 4.7L and 5 speed. It also has zero options except cruise and a/c. Kind of thinking about changing that lol.
My dad has an 06 that has the same 4.7L, but he has a higher trim and has the 6 speed in his, the Getrag box.
I come from the world of Subaru and sport bikes, so this is a huge difference. I sold my built WRX because I didn't want to deal with the weak trans crapping out on me, and didn't have the $5k it would cost to swap to the STi 6 speed. Also, I bought an '06 GSX-R 750 this spring, so I am currently getting my speed fix from that. All of these coupled with the fact that I just bought a team race car with some friends kinda pushed me to selling the Subaru and getting a truck.
Lastly, when I first started looking, I was like "hell yeah, I'm going to get a Cummins and finally have something diesel," and then reality set in and I realized that I would have to finance to get into a Cummins, and I ended up with my gasser :/. Not ideal, but I guess it still pulls the RS okay. Pulls my parent's boat real well, and I haven't towed the 4-wheeler yet but I'm sure that will pull well too.
Anyways, that was a long thread. I'll stop now lol.
