right, once again its a "trip' not an average everyday normal driving day, you must have some kind of unicorn truck there, cause i see u post before about towing and only getting 11 mpg, thats a pretty big swing in mpg, i tow a 6000 lb boat on the highway and i only vary a couple mpg from normal not 13mpg, thats unheard of
It is an average over the tank which is when I reset the "trip". The tank I am currently on is what matters to me and most ppl. Clearly the overall life of mpg on my truck isnt 24mpg. Its towed thousands of miles and prior to the vararam and xpipe it didnt get as good as mpg. My point is I can regularly see that kind of mpg per tank if I'm not towing and just using it for my day to day. As seen from posts above others have shown 25mpg + over 500-2000 mile average clearly over a tank of gas.

O you drive 75 in heavy traffic? What point are you trying to make? 56mph shows a average and includes traffic and my driving conditions. Just accept that you are wrong.

admit im wrong to what? THAT my truck gets 12-18 at anytime even towing and yes driving faster then 75 in chicago traffic is the norm, not 56 tucked behind a semi to get the best mpg.......dont forget u even said you get 2 more mpg just from the vararam which is more bs

Varying a couple of mpg with a boat at highway speed is not normal, I drop between 6-8 when towing my boat.

Also a huge difference between a 6000lb boat and a 7500lb 30ft long TT

Probably a bit, but less than you would think - depending on how tall the boat is.
Mine is like pulling a parachute when the cover is on - which is all of the time.
Stock, I got 9.5-11.5 mpg @ sea level on the flat @ 73 mph. And I am under 5000 lbs.

Makes sense the 11mpg he is referring to was a trip thru the mountains compared to normal daily driving in basically flat ohio. I was shocked it didnt drop more lol he is acting like I should have been getting 22 according to his couple of mile logic.

Yeah 11 mpg for that load is still pretty decent.

With my underbelly mods, I get 12-13.5 mph towing @ 74 mph in the heat of the summer (from the Fl. Keys to Va., drops a little more coming over the mountains to get to Pgh.) using 87 or 89 ethanol fuel.

My commute is very similar to Ohio's. I live next to the highway and I work right off the highway. My commute is 50km exact, if I let the truck shift normally and use the MDS I average about 11L/100km (21.3mpg). Not a trip average, that's my lifetime average in summer as I never reset it.
That's with load range E AT tires, at 3600ft elevation in the foothills of the rockies. I can see how at a lower elevation without hills and if you had lighter tires you could average what he's getting.

Dayton is about 700ft Cincinnati is about 500ft elevation. Also still have the stock sra's for now then new wheels and and tires. The set up I'm looking at is 120lbs or so each I think stock 20s are 72ish.

I got an additional 1500 off when I got it for leasing it with the intent of buying originally. I actually signed the paperwork Friday to do a lease buy out. So the answer to that question is someone who understands how to save money. Not only did I save an additional 1500 up front now that I've bought it i paid sales tax on the current value ~12k less than new because you dont pay sales tax on a lease because you dont own it. O and interest rates are lower on a lease so for the 1st 18 months I saved that which is big because I initially had some negative in there. So all and all my decision that doesn't add up saved me 3k+ or so. Had I waited till lease end I would have only had tax on 20k residual value. Clearly in my case 18 more months I doubt I could have pulled a loan that high so I did it now turns out max loan was about 1700 more than what my current buy out was. Which brings up the next point that banks wont finance negative on used cars typically and the fact I could have gotten a little more if needed tells me all of that negative is already gone.

I've only had my truck a few months and only took one small trip of 3 hrs each way.
I was able to get up over 20 mpg according to the trip computer. I found it better to use the pedal as the cruise wanted to keep shifting cause I couldn't go fast enough.
Normal every day driving I'm at about 16.
That's a heck of a lot better than the 05 V-6 I had previously....14-15 was the norm for that truck.
