Hey folks,
I have a 2012 3500, 6 speed manual.
My clutch is still good but my throughout bearing went out.
I can push/pull start it and can start in 1st gear without the clutch.
There must be some kind of idiot sensor on the clutch pedal that won’t let the engine turn over without the throughout bearing in tact.
Is there a way to bypass this sensor?
I cannot afford to have an entire clutch job right now…

It’s a simple micro switch on the clutch pedal that will prevent it from starting. It doesn’t know anything about the throw out bearing. Worse case is if the bearing is bad when you go to start the vehicle will lunge.

i have a 18 g56 manual 2500. dealer took trans in and out ( long story ) they damaged the clutch saftey switch. it stopped working 500 miles from home. i bought a new switch at store, and spliced the wires together.... bypassed the switch. if you do this, your truck can start in gear so be careful. cheers.
