Glad you are happy with your purchase. Between axle to frame bags such as Timbergroves, better springs, micro cell springs, cheap in coil bags, and Timbrens. Having experienced all but the mico cell springs Timbren would be my last choice. Its like coming from socialist dictator run Cuba where people can only keep fixing the old 50s cars to an 80s car you would say the 80s cars are great. Until you experience cars made in the last decade. I wish Timbrens & in coil bags would go away. lol Perhaps I'm dark today.

To me, it was simple economics. They are 70 to 75 percent cheaper than bags if you calculate the cost of equipment on the top end compared to the pain in the butt of using bags without an onboard compressor. At some point, I'll invest in a softer ride, but for 200 bucks or so, I achieved my goal of not looking like a moron with a squatting ride while pulling a massive camper.

My main reason was that I wanted to maintain a factory ride when unloaded. My alternative would've been stronger springs as many have mentioned here.

I had airbags on my previous vehicle and it was a little annoying having to fill it with air after hitching up all the wdh components.

Both timbren and wdh reduced my squat to just over 1" which is more than acceptable in my book.

I have a 2 inch lift in the back. Do they make bigger or is air the way to go?

They only make contact when you load the bed.

I'm picking up some Timbrens in the next few weeks. After talking to some fellow Horse owners, they were concerned about the damage the trailer would do to my truck if I kept pulling the trailer like it is.

I'm still a little perplexed on which ones to get, I've found 3 or 4x kinds but I need something that'll be 7,000lbs or more. Trailer is 3k lbs, each horse is ~1,000 lbs each. So, ~6,000 lbs in total, and tack + people.

I'll make sure to take pictures, even if my fingers freeze off!

Bought my 3500 dually used and it had timbrens on it, was the first thing to come off. Found the ride was way too harsh with them, experienced the same problem with a 3500HD Chevy wrecker that I used to drive.

If you're truck is lifted, I believe timbren has spacers to help reduce the gap. Typically the gap is about an inch so you're truck would sag 1inch before timbren would work, this is to maintain factory ride.
Pretty happy with mine, can't complain really.

That is dictated by what your capacity is now, and what you will be adding. Do not confuse trailer weight w/ gvwr, gawr and trailer tow capacity.

I understand what you're saying, and do not completely disagree.

I placed Timbrens on an '04 2500 w/ 5500 lb. gawr and couldn't be happier. They were specifically installed to accommodate an 9' Western Pro Plow w/ 1' wings. W/o the Timrens, the stance was off and made the plow frame unlevel (not good). W/ the Timrens, it makes the plow frame level. So it has served its' purpose...economically. It's a heavy plow truck, a hauler, a work truck.

That being said, I would not want to cruise cross country with them.

I haven't noticed much ride difference with mine but my truck is also lifted. For 200 bucks it's a good deal and really only takes 20-30 mins to install so if you towed very few times a year you could just swap them out when you need them

I put the 1 inch spacers in that were provided by timbren. It can ride rough sometimes, but the alternative is a sag in the rear.

The other huge bonus was how easily it was to install timbrens. I had a travel trailer of which I used to lift the truck using the power jack. It probably took less than 10minutes to install. All I used to shim was a hockey puck.

Now that makes sense Johnsram. A unique situation.
No load or a light load where you transition on & off the Timbren bump stop can be terrible. Such as a road with expansion joints or over a speed bump. If you have a load so heavy that it rides on the bump stop its just a harsh ride as the suspension is kept from working as designed. Much like an old wagon with no springs or shocks. When you have experienced the support control and dampening of bags such as Timbergroves working in union with the springs & shocks you have a much better system. But it does cost over $300. It doesn't require any cutting or tools to install but may take an hour if you would do Timbrens in 30 minutes. Just fwiw

Good to know. I just want to get rid of the sag, and to not kill my suspension by hauling so much weight it kills my truck faster.

They seem easy enough to swap when needed, if only needed a few times a year. Any concern of wear on the top of either the factory bump, or the timbren, with repeated installation / removal ?

pondering some timbrens.....

It's really stiff rubber so I wouldnt see a problem with removing and installing them alot. Real easy on a lifted truck
