I went with Royal Purple on my first oil change (7 quarts 5w-20). Time for another change. Stick with Royal Purple or go with Pennzoil Ultra, Mobil Super, Castrol Edge Titanium? RP is the cheapest of the four and Pennzoil Ultra is most expensive. No, I'm not saying that price dictates quality. Thanks!

Ultra, don't have to drop royal purple entirely, they make the best oil filters.

Wow Burla! Thanks for the super fast response! I just noticed Pennzoil Platinum too. Platinum or Ultra? Thanks!

I ran RP for the first 30k, switched to Amsiol SS. Honestly I haven't noticed a difference. I think the biggest difference would be I could go 25k with out a oil change if I wanted to. But I'll keep my 5k oil change.

Ultra is better the platinum, but platinum is a top tier oil as well. Both have decent moly, good bases and additives, the difference is Ultra has about a 100% better noack meaning it evaps less at operating temps, and also Ultra has or is group 4 oil, I believe. I will be using Ultra myself at least in one of my vehicles.

Thanks again! I'll got with the Pennzoil Ultra and RP oil filter!

Any performance gain when you get the most expensive oil and filter that money can buy?
