Well it's that time. Having the diffs, transfer case, transmission, oil and coolant fluids all done......and the plugs. Going to hate to see that bill but have to preserve the truck and the lifetime warranty so has to be done. Here's to it going another 100K plus.

You will hate it more when you find out they didn't do the work; just gave you a bill.

I would hate that but at least the "work" would have been documented for any warranty failures in the future. All I can ask for unless they let me stand in the back and watch them and we know that isn't happening.

Exactly
To keep any warranty that still exists, you have to get that Inspection documented.

I just purchased another Warranty from Mopar
I had to have a Complete Inspection at the Dealership
It extends my old Extended Warranty

Now i am good up to 100,000 miles or 7 more years

Per the manual (for my 2014 anyway) Tranny and xfer case are 120K
Coolant is 150K - or 10 years which you are getting close to
I can't find mention of the diffs but am thinking they are the same as the xfer case. Although, it does seem like I did them before 100K. IIRC, at my dealer it's called a "4WD Service" and includes both diffs and xfer case fluid swap. It was around $400 which I found to be very reasonable.

Plugs are 100K as you say. Fwiw, when my truck was in for the plugs just before 100K the brakes finally needed to be done. VERY pleased they made it that long.

I've also still got a Lifetime Warranty going. Super glad... my engine went at 110K. Also, got a tranny rebuild at 90K. There's never been a wrench of the truck outside of the dealer which helped a lot with verifying service. They hassled me quite a bit on the engine over stupid things like my registration.

What does registration have to do with your engine.

On my Ram's Inspection, they only found that my Windshield Wiper Blades were bad.

They were worse than bad, the rubber was separating
All good now

I thought wiper blades were considered a consumable item and without any warranty or a very short term, at the least.

They were grasping at straws trying to get out of coverage and wanted me to prove I owned the truck. When my state (Oregon) sends the registration renewal it says, "Renewal Application" on it. You then go through DEQ, pay the fee and that becomes your actual registration. Ram warranty folks were trying to say that is just an application and not the actual registration.

It was pretty ridiculous.... after all, I have the title, the keys and THE TRUCK :) My dealer was super apologetic but I get it. +/- $13K repair... I'm sure I'd try everything I could to get out of it too.

Every fluid/oil in the truck plus the plugs.......almost $2500. I'm feeling a bit violated today.
Yes, you very well might. But, you are more than welcome to gather up all the fluids and parts to do it yourself for a **** ton cheaper. However, i have a hankerin’ you may then realize what all the rest of the moneys went to.

Pretty simple stuff overall for a garage mechanic, but certainly a lot of screwin around. And what are you gonna do with all the old fluid?

Completely aware of what it takes, hence taking it to the dealer. It's easy stuff but no fun and disposal is a PITA. It just hurts a little bit even though I went in knowing it was going to be expensive.

That is why the financial arm of a manufacturer is generally who handles warranty issues. The end goal is to not pay and make money.

My truck is a 2016 Big Horn and I have roughly 175k on it and runs really good with a miner lifter tapping at start up now after sitting over night but not during the day after first startup, I have done all the maintenance on it myself at roughly 100k miles to include all fluids and plugs.

Has anyone done a timing chain component replacement on there 5.7l hemi especially themself i? My truck has roughly 175k but Mine still runs good just looking into replacing it to be proactive on possible components going bad in future, wanting to know what all components you replaced and at what miles did you do it at? I have a 2008 hemi truck and replaced all the timing components and oil pump myself at 180k to be proactive and the job was pretty easy to do (I’m a retired Master ASE Tech) and have not worked on the newer Hemi yet (2012 up) other then maintenance parts. Any info would be appreciated.

Definitely a no brainer except for the trans if it’s a 8 hp70 it takes another person or a obd2 scanner to keep it in the temp parameters. I did it and I’m a lowly electrician. In response to the others maybe you could mark the bolts since the bolts get replaced in a OE pan kit with the built in filter.
