so I have finally got to the stage where I need/want a tune. My biggest objective is better gas mileage. Right now the current job site is 90 miles one way and I’m going thru 2 full tanks a week. So I’m torn between the sofa king touchscreen all in one or the Gde route. If mileage was your biggest concern and you never tow anything which tuner would you go for. Stock truck stock tire size. Thank you in advance for your help.

GDE will typically get 1-2 mpg better than Sofa King Tune.

I recently completed a month's worth of medical trips, 5 days a week, 223.4 miles per day. My truck is tuned by SOFA KING, stage 1, I averaged about 23 mpg average speed was 78-79 mph. fuel cost was a flat $23.00 a day @ 223.9/gallon. T BIGGEST issue on diesels is their "SWEET SPOT" find it & drive it in that range & they will deliver decent mpg, I've done 29mpg on my 2017 BIG HORN CC 4X4, 3.92 GEARS. Sweet spot is about 64 MPH, but I like to drive faster than that. I've also played with different brands, but so far inconclusive.

I’m actually leaning to MR Tuning stage 1 and trans tune. Been researching and it’s between them and gde .

My truck has the sofaking tune. I gained about 1-2 mpg. My truck gets 26.5 mpg back and forth to work which is 2/3 50 mph highway and 1/3 city driving. The biggest thing I noticed with the tune is the delayed throttle response is gone. The factory tune was really doggy taking off from stop lights or entering traffic, the tune makes it night and day better.

Just bought a used 2018 Ecodiesel and love it. Picked up a 4 yr/100K extended warranty so don't want to do any physical modifications.

Can the sofa kit tune go in even without the EGR delete?

Yes

Edit:
It's called a stage 1 tune. It is for trucks that retain the stock equipment
Deleted trucks require the stage 2 tune

HD Diesel Supply in Canada, basically the GDE Tune from before they got shut down by the EPA
