So, I bought this 2019 Ram Classic in May of 2019, I live in NB (Atlantic time zone) from the time I bought this truck the clock would continue to reset to eastern time. The dealer was finally able to get it to stop resetting and stay on Atlantic time, except for twice a year, the day defore the time change at 7pm it changes to eastern time, then at 2am it makes the time change and when I get in he truck I have to manually adjust the time to eastern again. Anyone else ever had this issue?

I have never subscribed to the navagation programs, so I guess that could be it.

AFAIK, the basic Nav features should be included on your truck without cost or subscription.

I use mine often when travelling to a local known location, just as a time estimate or, if travelling into the city of Ottawa it will report road closures or construction en route.

My truck included a free 5-year subscription to live traffic updates which you likely don't have on a 2019.

Your Uconnect radio has a subscription location to confirm what is available on your truck but I don't recall it listing the basic Nav function.

Interesting - I leave my GPS off until I need to adjust the time, then I sync it for like 5 seconds and it sets the correct time then I'm good for a few more months.

Do you require to re-sync every few months to maintain your correct time zone?

IIRC, I've only synced mine a couple of times in the past few years and at least one was likely from a manual battery disconnect.

No, like all clocks, digital or analog, it will lose a few minutes every 4 or 5 months so I just sync it to get it right then turn off my GPS again.

Aha, I understand.

They spend piles of development dollars on these trucks, and can remotely locate or disable them but have yet to develop a stable and accurate clock.

Yet another wonder!

The one at the Naval Observatory is supposedly accurate to within about 100 picoseconds (0.000 000 000 1 seconds) per day from day to day. Us deplorables aren't eligible for that tech.

what did you guys do when they had analog clocks in cars and trucks?

all digital clocks in vehicles automatically keep the time accurate and will switch to DLS time, even crossing a time zone.

since i bought mine in 2020 i have never had to adjust the clock. If your clock isn't staying at AST time, then something with your GPS isn't right.

My 2021 got “stuck” on central time 2 years ago. Would take about 2 minutes to switch to the proper eastern time zone at every start up.
This went on for about a year then suddenly fixed itself.

The GPS can't be turned off, your just stopping it from syncing the clock. The radio uses the GPS to report your location in case the 911(Emergency) button is pushed.

I would guess I may have been wearing an analogue watch back then too.

Plus or minus a couple of minutes was OK for analogue.

We will see what happens to the truck clock after I break away from the collective.

Removing the Sierra wireless card from my 4C radio is on my list after receiving a dumb-a$$ form letter reply from FCA Canada.

I sent them an email request to stop uploading my personal data.

Not if you keep it from syncing with your GPS.
