the paint on my truck has tiny rust spots, does anyone have this?
it's only noticable when I get a chance to wash it. it looks as if someone was using a grinder all around the truck, and spewed crap all over.

is there anything that can be done about this without stripping it down and resprayed?
rust isn't cancer from beneath the body. it's like the rust is imbedded in the paint.

"Rail dust" from shipping.
Get a clay bar kit and spend a few hours detailing it....it'll pull it all out and you'll be better than new.

Noticed the same thing on mine (white). Might have to try the clay bar idea this weekend.

A shiny one
As mentioned, clay bar is the standard for removing rail dust. You are likely seeing them after a wash because the dirt on the surface covers them up when it's dirty.

If not, then an iron removal product like our Deep Wheel Cleaner will do wonders to dissolve those embedded particles.

How bad are they? Can you post a picture?

I have these on my 2008 as we'll. I happened to point it out to a roads department guy and he claimed it was from the transport trucks in the highway. (I do alot of highway driving)

Local dealer told me mine were from "brake" dust, not necessarily from my brakes either. just brake dust in general. came off with a iron removal product, and then clay bar.

Claying works, but it can leave micro-marring...

Check out this picture of Adams DWC at work...

PH neutral too so it won't hurt your metal trim work.

picked up clay bar kit, tried it in a couple of spots. haven't had time to do whole trucks (affected areas) but took alot of small stuff off but, a few larger spots still remain. think i'll try other products mentioned.
would a buffing compound take out the larger spots left?
the spots bug me, want to take care of it now, before it turns to cancer and it needs to be sanded and resrayed.
