Good afternoon, I’m looking to replace my stock size tires soon. Has anyone used the nitto terra grappler 275/65/20? Its a 47 lb tire. I love the look of 34’s, but I want the lightest tire possible. Thanks.

Lightest tire and all terrain tire are two competing factors.

What’s the question? If anybody has used the tire? If so sure.

also support your local tire chain. Get a print out and show it to for example your local Americas Tires. They will price match and you can deal directly with them if you have an issue down the road instead of Amazon. I love Amazon but I wouldn’t order tires from them or Tire rack or any online place. I rather drive to a place if I have an issue with my tires/wheels and Americas Tires is literally everywhere in USA. Been there done that. Online places only care about you when you hit order, after that they think you’re a moron if you contact them to chat about an issue with the package. They will blame the transport carrier, they’ll blame the way you drive, they’ll blame the vehicle before they can agree to a change/return/refund :)

I agree, don’t buy your tires from Amazon. Support a local shop. Too many tire shops will price match. America’s Tire is where I’ve been going for 15yrs.

I have dealt with a local dealer for over 25 years with commercial, farm and personal vehicle tires. Yes, I may pay a little more, but the service is perfect, without question. I buy my truck tires, and have them rotated free of charge at my 5,000 mile oil change. One less thing I have to worry about.

I’m not ordering these tires from Amazon. I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this particular tire on a ram 1500.

Yes, the Terra Grapps are a great tire. A lot of guys on this forum are running them. I have been researching them as well. I will be getting the 305/55/20 XL’s which are only 51 lbs per tire. A lot of us want a nicer more aggressive looking tire, but don’t necessarily need an E rated or F rated 10 or 12 ply. I love my General ATX’s that I currently have, but they are E’s and weigh 65lbs a piece. I don’t tow anything and rarely put cargo in the bed that weighs anything close to the weight that would justify a 10 ply tire.

So to answer your question, yes they are a good choice. But remember, any AT tire is gonna weigh more than an all season or highway tire. But you will also not get the looks and performance of an AT tire so it’s a trade off.
