I am looking at replacing the stock tires on my '07 Ram 1500 with stock 20 inch wheels. The stock size is 275/60/R20, but I was hoping to go a little wider. How wide of a tire can I use without a leveling kit or wheel spacers and not get into the fender wells or control arm? Have been considering 285/60/R20 or 295/55/R20 or 295/60/R20. Would like to go with a 305/55/R20, but from reading other info it doesn't sound like I can get away with it without some rubbing. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

305s should be just fine, as long as they aren't beefcake tires

Thanks for the replies. I really like the Mickey Thompson ATZs. Sounds like I would probably need spacers to run those. Anybody have any opinions on the use of spacers? I am a little hesitant to use them.

On my 2008 4x4 I ran Mickey Thompson Baja Claw 325/50R20's on my stock 20's. They did require a 1/2" wheel spacer and I did not have any rubbing.

Pictures are proof.

I run 305/55/20 on my stock 20's with a 1/4 inch spacer and zero rub or problems at all!

if your truck is 4x4, you will need spacers to run 305's. 295's might fit with no spacers.
