Hey guys, I switched to new tires which are 35''x"12.5 General Grabbers it says max recommended PSI is 65, they're E rated tires. I had Tire Kingdom also put the TPMS in the new setup. Now they only aired them up to 40PSI. That seemed low to me and when I questioned them, they said the sensors can't handle the higher pressures.

So... what should I do? Is 40 PSI too low for this tire? is 50 PSI too much for the sensors? I do have a tuner so I can adjust the sensors to a higher threshold for the warnings.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I'd keep them at 40-45psi. The 65 is the max pressure to keep the tire stable under the max load rating of the tire, which is likely much higher than your GVWR. (3195 X 4)
If you put 65psi in them it will be like riding on rocks, steering will be less stable, braking distance will increase, and the center of your tires will wear out first.

I run mine at 45psi front and 40psi rear. Remember, the front of your truck is heavier than the back, so to get the tires to wear evenly, you want to have the fronts at a higher pressure than the rear.

Also the sensor rating can't be adjusted with a tuner. The tuner only adjusts at what pressure the receiver flags a problem.

I run about 40 nitro in mine and I would not worry about having to add to them because I don't even think my truck could handle enough to max load my E rated tires so no worries. My tires are wearing perfectly even with rotations every 6000 miles.
