Looking for a recommendation on a starting tire pressure for 285/60/20 Micky Thompson Baja Boss A/T. When I go to tiresize.com and use their tire pressure calculator, based on the OEM P275/60/20 @ 39 PSI (door sticker), it says I should start with 44psi. Does this sound correct. I will eventually try doing a chalk test to confirm but just trying to start somewhere close. I appreciate your advise.

I used to run a tire store and Normally I would say stay with the placard and factory recommended pressure. However, since you are moving to a LT tire, 44 would be sufficient. My truck has LTs from the factory and they are 43 psi.

Granted I have Yokohamas, but mine run at 50psi unloaded, and 60psi when towing. So, no…. 44 does seem high at all to me.

Thank you guys for the assistance. I will start at 44 and do a chalk test once I get the alignment done. Have a great evening.
