Hey All,. Got a question for anyone wants to answer.
I bought new tires all around for my truck. What's the best pressure to run? The sidewalk says 44 psi max . Not running max normal load I would say 40 rear and 42 front cold. What's do you think?
Reason is less weight in rear than front so it doesn't need the same pressure. Any thoughts? Thanks again.......

Is your truck a 1500? What brand and type of tires are you running? If you're running something similar to what came on it from the factory I would run what the sticker in your door jam says to run which would be 39 PSI if you have a 4th gen with 20" tires. If you have a higher load range tire on there then it would be more.

IMO. Forget the sticker on the door jam. It doesn't know what tires you are running. Go with what feels right. If 44 is max on the tire and you are not towing anything I would start with what you were thinking and adjust from there. I would run less in the rear as you stated. Less weight there. I have a 2500 and never run anywhere near what my truck tells me to unless I am towing. No need to run 75 psi in the rears when there is no friggin weight back there.

I run 40psi all the way around at all times and I got almost 50k miles out of the stock 20" goodyear sra tires on my 2011. I plan on doing the same with my new 2021

Never fails, if you want conflicting answers just ask your question in a forum :D

We can't tell you what pressure to run in your tires without some information. Even then it's just our opinions or best guesses. Do some experimentation. Do some research on how to figure out what the correct pressure is for you. One way to figure that out is the tire chalk test. There are lots of videos out there on how to do that so I won't post any links. Just search on "tire chalk test".

Contact the tire manufacturer directly ,give them needed info and they should come back with answer. I have 20” terra grapplers running at 44 psi. Front and rear and my tires are wearing well.

I always run the recommended pressure, but it's a personal preference and I feel as though tire pressure guidelines are more important on today's trucks than they used to be.
