Well, first and foremost since you said you want a comfortable ride, I’d steer clear from the recommendation towards the BFG KO’s. Had a set- actually still have a set until I can get them sold but I took mine off for a set of the Michelin Defenders. So far those handle great in rain and wet roads and seem to be pretty good against hydroplaning. Ain’t tried them on ice or snow yet since we ain’t got none here so far in southern Oklahoma but tire rack rates these tires fairly well in light snow and on ice. Actually, every aspect of snow/ice/mud, so on and so forth is really high. A lot better than the BFG’s.
They ride really nice too. Plus with a lot longer tread life as well.
As far as the BFG’s, they are a great tire- for what they’re designed for. Keep in mind these are an 8-ply LT tire, twice the ply as them stock Goodyear’s you have on there now. If you get them you can probably run them whatever tire pressure you want but BFG recommends 55psi with a minimum of 50. You can run them at 39(Goodyear’s pressure) but to me, when I ran mine that low, they felt awful spongy on cornering and stopping. Rode alright, but even with my air suspension, I felt a lot more bumps on the road.
Do you tow heavy trailers a lot? Go off-roading a lot? Go in places where you get flats often? Those bfgs might be for you. But if not, I’d stay away from them. They’ll also reduce your mileage too.
