Tire size change

i am installing 295/65/20's on my 2024 3500 Dually. i am trying to figure out how to do so with AlfaOBD and a OBDLinkEX. i have read about the bypass cables and what not and do not know if needed or not. if needed is there someone out there that has purchased one off amazon? the quickest way to get something, i needed it yesterday kind a deal here. Please Help lol

All Ram trucks 2018+ require a security gypass cable to use AlfaOBD or equivalent.

KaodTech makes the best bypass cable, AFAIC. I'm unsure how quickly you can expect delivery, but it's worth waiting. Install it once and forget it.

Many 5th gen 1500s have the security gateway beside/behind the OBD2 connector and will function with the inexpensive 12+8 security bypass cable sold on Amazon, but they have to be R&R before/after changes and before visiting the Stealership. I'm not sure about your 3500.

I use the OBDLink SX with a Kaodtech security bypass cable.

much appreciated. i have looked into Koadtech and they are sold out. the wheels an tires will be mounted this week and i have a 1500 mile trek back home pulling a 20000 lb fifth wheel and was needing something just to get me by till the koadtech is available again. prob should have thought this out sooner lol.

So, what is your stock tire size?

We can compare stock vs. your selected size to see what sort of speedo error you will experience. Maybe all you need to know is if your speedo is reading XX MPH, you are actually going XX MPH.

I believe the sold-out is frequently displayed at Kaodtech, yet they often manage a fast delivery.

Another consideration, just how much different is the tire circumference?

I see MadDog beat me to it.

Enter the tire stats here for comparison and let's see how much the speedo error will be. If the error is not enormous, just keep that in mind during your return trip and order the Kaodtech harness ASAP.
