I am really considering the ridge grapplers in the 37/11.50 with method 315’s 18x9 + 18. Hoping that setup keeps me from rubbing.

I think that would be a damn good setup.

Take a 2016 PW with the stock 45.72mm offset wheels and 285 70R17 tires. If you want to find out what wheel offset to maintain the inner sidewall at the same stock distance away from the suspension/frame for a larger set of tires then utiize this calculator. With 35 12.50R17 tires the new wheel offset would be 29mm. 18mm offset wheels will put them further away by nearly 1/2" . All are approximates due to tire sizes by brands vary.

A 29mm offset looks great on paper, but in reality it's not available.

AEV wheels have a +27mm offset...close enough

It seems like the AEV wheels for our Ram trucks are 17" diameter, only. Considering the S/T Maxx 35" (305 70R18) on aftermarket 18x9 wheels. A positive 20mm offset appears to be the closest to a 29mm on 18x9 wheels. An additional 3/8" further out from the frame than stock would allow a tad more room to run heavier duty tire chains on the rear than the little amount of room available to clear the parking brake cable with my 285 width 34" tires.

yea that sounds like a damn good tire and wheel setup.

and yes, aev wheels are only 17” for the heavy duty.

Yea, with 35’s its not a big deal. You might experience some unnecessary rubbing with 37’s, though.
Cool, that was my thought going in on the setup.

A plus 12-18, I discovered is the ideal offset on our HD trucks to A- no rub
B- can run a 37" still no rub or trim needed on just a 2.5/3" level
My -18 offset on 37's will require a lot of trim work. I kick my self in the ass because I went -18 instead of going +18.

It will but I say 37-12.5/18 no rub.

I wonder if you sell what you got now and maybe make up a chunk and get the +20 they make for the blitz rim in size 18. The only other positive size for that one in size besides +20 is +1. Here is the chart for that exact rim and color size 18x9. Offset is to the right.

Good information. Looks like I will need a control arm to run 37s on a stock setup not to rub there.
I wish he would have talked about wheel spacers. I know a few PW owners here are running them instead of getting rims. (Only 2017&18) 1-1/2 spacer will kick it out to the edge of the fender.

What year truck do you have? A 4th or 5th Gen You shouldn't need new control arms to run a 37" tire. You should expect rubbing on the sway bar and radius arm and may have to do slight trimming if running stock wheels. If you went with a aftermarket wheel +18-+27 it will push your wheel father out eliminating the rub on sway and radius arms but you still may need trimming. Watch from about the 5:25 mark.

The 39" tire needed new control arms for the rear. These guys probably don't talk spacers b/c they wheel the crap out of their trucks and a spacer is another component that could likely fail on a trail. I personally don't like or trust spacers on any truck even if it's a mall crawler but that's just my personal opinion

I said control arms but meant sway on my 19.
Spacers do get a bad wrap. And there are some failures due to not Torquing or getting out past 2”... I don’t have any but a few here would vouch for them.
