On the 2020 Ram 2500, what’s the difference between the stock 18” tires and optional 20” when it comes to ride quality? Don’t plan to do much off road, mostly towing a travel trailer. Thanks.

Only difference I know is the 20’s leave more space in your wallet.

18” will be a much smoother ride.

More sidewall creates a better cushion. Just my thought.

Welcome onboard!

I bet if you measured that 17" tire, it would be the same overall size (rim+rubber) as the 20", or very close. My father had the same thing on his 2015 Laramie. My 2014 Longhorn, before I traded it, came with a 20" spare, but only because it was added as an option back then.

My new 2020 came with 22" rims and an 18" spare.

Yep.
I’ve got a ‘20 1500 Limited. 20” wheels with an 18” emergency spare.
I had occasion to use the spare recently. It worked fine, but didn’t inspire confidence what with the speed limitations, etc... I was on a trip towing travel trailer. So I moved the emergency spared to the front. Extra work for me. Yippee!

Sorry to butt in but the 2020 2500 I May purchase has LT275/70R18E OWL on it.
I would also like to put 20" rims on it but without lifting/leveling can I put a 305 tire on without rubbing?
