I’m being told at 20000 miles that my tires in the rear are at 8/32 and the front are at 10/32. I’m being told that this is opposite of where they should be. I’m in a stock ‘15 1500 Outdoorsman and the tires are Michelelin XLT. Any ideas?

Both my backs are worn to nub in the middle, my fronts are like new. No I don't run my tires high psi, but normal like 35psi. If I was any lower I would be setting of tire pressure monitor. Clearly, I don't rotate, when I get a tire upgrade, I will be rotating.

I will have them rotate. I know that normally front wear more, but maybe it’s because the trucks have high torque. I dunno.

Also, it hasn’t been 20000 miles. I’ll have to look at when they were put on.

So your rears are worn within 1/16th of the fronts, and you haven’t rotated in 20k miles? Sounds like you won the even tire wear lottery!

My fronts get shredded on the edges due to running AT tires on crazy curvy roads. I rotate every 5k miles and can never get them even.

So, I’m in for my oil change. Service said that the trucks do actually wear in the rear faster.
