Tires? TIRES!

Need some suggestions on replacing the 285/45r22 GY Fortera SL's that came on my truck with some D rated tires. I'm trying, and failing, at locating suitable replacements in that size.

What are yall using for LRD in or near that size?

All of them are either standard or XL load rating. Nothing in load range D.

I can't find any either. You may need to drop down to a 20" wheel if you have to have a load range D tire.

If you were asking about tongue weight, load distribution, max load capacity, etc, then it would be a towing question, but you specifically asked about "TIRES!", hence being moved to Exterior, where they talk about tires.

285/45/22 with the 114 xl load rating is 2600lbs X 2 is 5200lbs. Your rear axle is only rated at 3900 lbs, you will be fine

I'm not worried about weight so much as I am the squishy 2 ply sidewalls. They aren't very stable when towing 27' 8000# trailer.

Trailer stores sell them, and I would wager some tire shops can get them? Have you called les shuab?

I had a 3/4t suburban on 285/45/22 tires with a 6000lb travel trailer, at 50 psi was like running on rails. I'm betting it's your suspension.
