I have a 2017 ram with 17" rims. I am buying 20" rims and would like to know what the tallest rubber i can put on without it rubbing and without adding spacers and stuff. Picture is of the rims i am buying. Thank you.
34 to 34.5" tall. If you plan to do any off-road you may want to stay at or below a 34" tire. I'm running Milestar Patagonia M/T 275/65R20 that were on the truck when I purchased it and they look stuffed (34.3").
You are gonna rub at full turn with a 12.5 wide tire. I have 33x12.5x20’s and I love them, but I also run a 1 and a 1/2” spacer and am leveled. Stick with the 275/65/20 as mentioned above if you want a tire that appears larger than stock but doesn’t rub.
Here’s my two cents: I had my truck lifted 4 inches and the company owner suggested I have spacers installed with the 33 inch tires that I wanted. Big mistake. It handled like garbage and vibrated a lot. I had to to go to Les Schwab, my go-to tire store, and had them install bigger rims and lose the spacers. It rides like a dream now.
