I am looking into a folding hard tonneau cover. I have seen the backflip and they are close to $1000. I found a brand called Bison and they run less than $700. Anyone used the Bison Flip back?

I called BAKFlip and talked them into a $100 discount. So I got the BAKFlip F1 for $944.89 plus sale tax with free shipping. The thing is extremely well-made. If you can afford the extra $244, consider getting the BAKFlip F1.

Yep I installed a Bison Flip-up on mine!

So far happy with it but it's not waterproof. I was expecting some water to leak in anyway and for that price, worth it IMO.

I have been looking at tonneau covers for our 2018 w/Rambox. We had the retrax retracting on our 2004 2500 and our 2014 1500 but they are too expensive now. It seems with current prices and limited choices for the Rambox bed we will just do without. A soft cover is not an option.

I have owned two trucks with the Access Rollover covers. No complaints on them. At one point the velcro on the side bars was shot, called the company and they sent me a roll of new velcro that covered both sides. Cut to fit, and slid into each channel, replaced the screw at each end to retain.
Few years later the tonneau's top velcro was shot, replaced it with new, though paid for that.

I have a Pace Edwards Switchblade on my 2017. No complaints here at all. It's not waterproof but it is definitely a secure cover that can't be just cut open with a knife.

I put a Truxedo Sentry hard roll cover on my 18 Rambox truck. Had it over a year now. Very happy with it, FWIW. Not waterproof, but I don't know of any rambox options that are.

Hey still liking the Bison cover? I'm looking at getting one since it's nearly 1/2 the price of a Bak and I don't mind it not being waterproof

I’m going with the Diamond Back HD. Renegade was also top of the list, but it’s a year wait - I’ll pass.

With Diamond Back, and proper bed modification to seal a few gaps, you can get it to be waterproof for the most part. Maybe some seepage around the tailgate. I’ve probably watched 10 or so hours of all the videos on YouTube and well, the one thing I learned this is a very personal decision ha.

Check out the videos, and also check out the videos of guys who are doing check in videos, after *** month/years of ownership. BAK covers have some issues with the heat and the cover coming off underneath etc. At least YouTube will give you an ownership perspective.

I'm on my second Bakflip. First one lasted 7 years before starting to fall apart. Like the overall look and quality so had no issue getting another.

Yeah it does the job. It's cheap, may last another 5-6 years. It dents easily, especially if you try to remove ice from it with light bangs (my fault). I see the rubber sides starting to show usage in the bends, thinking they will crack in the next few years. Other than that, it still looks great and does the trick. I don't open it too often so it should work out for me. Bison deletes reviews they don't like on their web site, so the ones you see, they like and leave on.

That sounds good enough for me then, even though the review thing is pretty shady. Just can't justify spending nearly double on another Bak and having it fall apart too (albeit it's a VP cover I have now which is discontinued because of these issues I would imagine).

I have the Rough Country Low Profile Hard Tri fold that I got from Americantruck.com for $700. If I had a complaint it would be I wish they offered it in flat black or satin, not crazy about the gloss but not a big issue.

I'm disapointed by how few finish option there are, and surprised so many are willing to live with the look of the popular choices which find kinda ugly.

Highly recommend the DiamondBack HD. Tiny seepage at the tailgate gap but, only through the force of touchless carwashes and their drying blowers.
