I'm considering lowering the rear of my truck. Just wondering if this needs just normal hand tools? I'm pretty mechanically inclined but limited to tools around the house. I just have the normal stuff. What all would i need to actually take out the springs, how many jacks, what size sockets, etc? Thanks for any help guys

That writeup about sums it up.
Jack
Jack stands
19mm socket (and socket wrench) to release passenger side lower shock mount
Pry bar
electrical tape (to hold the upper shock isolators in place while you re-install the springs)
we got the driver side coil out with just a touch of elbow grease (pulling).
The pass side was more compressed so we let the rear shocks hang to make a little more room.
It is so easy to do, it's comical.

Thanks for the input! So if I'm planning on cutting the rear coils, i wont even have to take the shock completely off correct? Just let it hang down after removing the bottom shock bolt?

That is correct. You can leave the top of the shock connected,

I ended up cutting 1.5 coils off the rear and there isn't that much of a difference. the driver side went down .75'' and the passenger side went down about 1''. Should i try cutting more off?
