I'm new here, I'm thinking of buying a 2004 Dodge 2500 4wd truck. I'm trying to find the literature that tells me how much it can tow...officially.

Yes, all I see there is the Axle limitations (5200lbs front and 6000lbs back). I also see GVWR of 9,000lbs. I'm thinking that means I can put; a maximum of 5200 lbs on the front axle, or a maximum of 6000 lbs on the back axle. The total of course can't be over 9,000 lbs. However, what I am looking for is the amount of weight it can tow with and without weight distribution? And the amount of tongue weight that can be applied to the truck with and without weight distribution. I'v found info for modern trucks online, but nothing for the older trucks. Does this info not exist?Hey Bob, Everyone must be outta town so I'll ask the easy question first--did you check the sticker on the door?
I'm having trouble with the link, but I'll try later thanks. In case anyone wants to look up theirs: http://www.rambodybuilder.com
Caveat: it only goes back to 2004 and the tow charts to 2005, however I would be confident in saying the info is good back to 2003.
Which means you blew right by the actual CHART portion I posted for you lolI'm having trouble with the link, but I'll try later thanks.
On the site I linked.Where did you find that chart?
