Trying to use the Ram Website is less than desirable, and the generic charts don't look right as far as cargo & tow rating.

6292lbs. cargo capacity on the door jamb sticker, but don't have any info on the towing rating for my new (new to me) 3500 Laramie Longhorn mega cab dually, with the 6.4L Hemi.

OK, that's where it was....damn I'm slow..

Just shy of 14k lbs., for towing, not bad....I'm sure if it had a Cummins it would be much higher, but it is what it is.

the simplest way is this.

GVWR minus payload equals base weight

Base weight plus 470 pounds is the allowance...passenger options hitch.

GCWR MINUS allowance weight equals trailer
max.

But remember. It is only at a 10% tongue weight.

So in your case...your GVWR is 14000 and you stated 6292 payload.

GCWR is 21500 with 3.73 and 25000 with 4.10

So 14000 minus 6292 is 7708 base weight.

Add the 470 and 8178 is your allowance weight.

If you have 4.10...25000 minus 8178 gives you a trailer max of 16822.

You then have to subtract all the other stuff you put in or on the truck.

Math was never my strong point....LOL.

Yeah, the 3.73 is the only option for the 6.4 that I can see. I'd have to find the build sheet, but I'm pretty sure it has the 3.73's. Nice thing with this truck, if I wanted to do a re-gear I could. But dropping a few G's on that isn't something I want to do. It's pretty stellar the way it is.

Yeah the Cummins ups the GCWR but you lose payload.

Cummins GCWR is 28300 and 30300 for SO 3.73 and 4.10 and 41600 and 43000 HO 3.73 and 4.10

Mine is a 2500 SRW (not dually) and I have 4.10's. My max towing is about 15.600 but my payload is only 2973

I misunderstood that then, didn't know that was optioned for the 6.4....thought that was for Cummins only. Thank you.

For info.

2500 Hemi gets 3.73 or 4.10
2500 Cummins only 3.73

3500 Hemi SRW gets 3.73 or 4.10
3500 Cummins SRW only 3.73

3500 Hemi DRW gets 3.73 or 4.10
3500 Cummins DRW gets 3.73 or 4.10

The only way to get a Cummins with 4.10 is dually.

The Hemi gets it in any configuration.

I showed the differences for the dually above with GCWR.

As you can see with the Hemi, you gain no more towing capacity with the 3500 from a 2500...just more payload.

The Hemi with 4.10 in a DRW does give you 100 pounds more though.

So the 6.4l HEMI is tapped out at 25000 GCWR.

The next BGE will be designed to get closer to that 30000 GCWR mark further closing the gap with the SO Cummins.

Just for info.

Any questions we can discuss...and I may have made a typo...forgive me if I did.

These were all American Crew Cab 8 foot bed 4x4 numbers...but I believe they are the same throughout configurations...bur Canadian numbers are less

So I can't find the 'Find My Vehicle' link either...lol. Mine is from Canada but curious to see what my max towing is. I was going by the regular site which showed something like 15,620 or something.
