I'd say if you could find a used 3.92 rear end in a junk yard I would go that route. Don't think you would be able to find a 4.10 in the junk yard for a 1/2 ton. If you actually go to the trouble of replacing gears go with the 4.10 as they would be basically the same price as the 3.92's. The 3.6 is a great V6. I would worry more about the transmission. Since it has a tow package it probably has an adequate tranny cooler, but if it does not, I would upgrade that & maintain it per the manual recommendation.
