Everyone,

purchased new wheels and tires from Custom Offsets last week. Had wheels and tires along with new sensors installed. Installed wheels and tires this weekend.

TPMS sensors are reading on dash and each wheel is showing pressure increasing or decreasing as tires heat up and cool down so i know the sensors are reading. Meaning I think they are at the right frequency

my issue is my TPMS light is on and has been on after about 20 miles of driving. I have checked and adjusted air in tires and tires are not over or under inflated. Im at 40 psi in each tire.

Tires are stock size 275/60/20.

My questions are as follows:

will the light go off automatically? Most information says sensors will adjust themselves in time. not certain i believe this

do i need to sync the sensors with the truck and if so can i do this with a scan tool like alfa obd?

if alfa will not do this, what scan tool is recommended can this be done at by someone like O'Reillys or Autozone?

Do I need to just go to a tire shop or god forbid the dealer?

Other random thoughts.

I replaced the sensors as my old sensors were 8 years old so it was time. My old sensors are still installed in my old wheels sitting in my garage.

I called custom offsets and they recommended programing with a scan tool. which information about dodge and ram vehicles says is un necessary. I'm kinda confused with the conflicting information. It appears programming is necessary for the vehicle to register the sensors

Truck is a 2011 Ram crew cab 4x4 with 5.7 hemi and 3.55 gears

thanks

I recently just purchased tpms from the tire shop that installed my new wheels. They kept trying to use the scan tool and it would only pick up the ones in my old wheels. So I drove and after about 2 miles the truck learned the new tpms sensors itself. So I do not believe you have to have them programmed the truck should learn them itself.
