Even after getting a great deal on my '12 Quad Cab 4X4 Laramie, I still wanted the '13. Well an opportunity presented itself and I traded the '12 for a Maximum Steel Metallic Crew Cab Big Horn 4X2.

I love it has pretty much all the same features except Nav and Sunroof.

Notice the Tires and wheels. They came off the Laramie.

Just wanted to share.

You lost or gained the sunroof and nav? I wouldn't have given up the nav for one year newer.

Gave up both, But I the 4x2 drives and rides much nicer. I still have the heated seats / Steering wheel, 8.4A, I actually like the cloth seats better, they are more comfortable, the things I dont have are easily added, i.e Steps. I like the plain look a bit better as well, and the fuel milage is a big gain. from 13.5 to almost 16, same motor and trans. and although I was an advocate for the Quad, the Crew really is a welcome addition.

And I didnt take a beating on the deal. I got out 30.00 a month more with nothing out of pocket.

The Laramie had 3000 mis on it (725 when I drove it off the lot) This one had 24 mis on it when I drove it home.

I have a GPS, No big deal.

Awesome! What did you want to gain by going to the 2013? I know it wasn't nav, sunroof, or wheels and tires... lol

I bought a brand new loaded Sport minus Nav. I couldn't see having it when it's on my phone which is updated constantly and I can bluetooth it or aux input the sound into the system while playing Pandora or XM Satellite (also through my phone).

Edit: just saw you posted whilst I was typing... Can't blame you!

What I wanted to gain was better fuel milage, Gained a bit, I really did not need the 4x4, and the extra running gear I felt made the truck handle a bit more sluggish, When I bought the '12 4X4 wasnt on my list of options, but I got such a great deal on the truck I figured its was a bonus. I really wanted a '13 from the git go, but it was the end of the year, so I settled for the '12.

I like the instrumentation and the elctronic Power Steering and the cab room most of all.

Not knocking the '12 models, But I guess the moral of the story is, don't buy something if its not everything you want.

I also like having the cup holders built into the center console on the 13's.
They made a few changes to it I believe. Somewhere I read that dodge got best interior for this year.

The center consoles are the same, at least on mine they both had the built in cup holdes, I like the larger touch screen and the center stack better on the '13 and the EVIC is nicer.

Very cool. I haven't seen this Maximum Steel color in person but it looks pretty dark in your pictures.

Who'd have thunk they would have even been on the list 5 years ago?

I sat in so many Mopars before and after getting my G8 and I always wondered why people wanted to sit behind the dash of one of them. SO cheap... Hard plastics and horrible designs. Mopar has come SO far...

Oh I know very well. My first truck was a 98' ram 1500 with the 360 4x4 with 9" of total lift. I loved that truck at 16-18 Mud ridin on the weekends. Drunk field parties and lots of well nvm on that one lol. The dash was all cracked up. Squeaks and clanks everywhere.
And this truck is solid as can be.

You need to see it in the daylight, You really cant tell in the pics, when you see it in the showroom, looks totally different. its like a Blue/Grey Metalflake, not dull and not flashy, its my new favorite

Nice Truck!

You can enable the NAV on the 8.4a (2013)... it's like $595 but...

I had to tell my dealership that. Sad.

Just debadged mine last night and took the vinyl off the B pillar. Looks cleaner.

The wheels/tires look great. Wise choice. Are they 'chrome clad' too? I hated it when I washed mine for the first time a few days ago... 'clack clack'. Oh Great... plastic covered wheels.... dirty ********.

Thanks all for the comments, Yea the wheels are Chrome clad, but I found they are so easy to clean I am feeling better about them. As far as the Nav, not that big of a deal, as I stated if and when I need it I already have a Garmin.

Kick, You say you took the vinyl off the B pillar? I didnt know you could do that. is it painted under there? post pics, Im curious. Thanks. I was going to buy the chrome covers and the chrome vent visors. Oh good news, FED-EX Home delivery runs on Saturday, my weather tech Mudflaps will be here today.

Very nice! Your reasons to buy the 2013 make sense.

Your insurance premium may be lower with a 4x2 as well.
