I'm looking into swapping out my bank of switches (really only two existing right now.....Tow/Haul and Traction Control) for a bank of switches that keep the functionality of tow/haul and traction control but gives me (3) new aux switches instead of the blanks in the current configuration. I've been working with a parts manager at a local Ram dealer and he is clueless. From what I can ascertain, I need to buy the correct bank of switches with the two original functions(tow/haul and traction control) and the following:

1. New auxiliary power distribution center
2. Mounting bracket for PDC
3. Harness changes/adds for the new switches to the auxiliary PDC?

Is it that simple or am I missing something? I can't quite get it through the parts guy's head what I think I need for this OEM upgrade. Also, will there be programming required through the OBD to allow for auxiliary switch functionality?

Anyone out there done this mod that can't point me in the correct direction?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. I’m trying really hard to stay OEM though. Wondering if anyone bought an OEM power distribution center and installed it instead of aftermarket.

I'm about to start a mod to swap out my current tow/haul and traction control switch panel to something that maintains that functionality but adds the auxiliary switches. Anyone have a part # handy for that swap? 2022 Tradesman 6.4L gasser crew cab.

I’m in the middle of this right now. I’ve installed the switch panel, the relay panel from Airdelete, and hooked them together. Still have to wire the relay panel for power and wire my first accessory.
I took the truck, 2018 1500 Express, to the dealer to get the auxiliary switches and steering wheel audio controls “turned on.” They told me they couldn’t do it because they needed a sale code.

Get AlohaOBD. There's all sorts of things you can change. Worth the investment.

I installed the relay kit from 4 Wheel Electronics, the appropriate aux switch, hooked it up and all it needed was to be enabled through AlohaObd. Works great.

How do you connect to your truck? Do you need cables or can it be done Bluetooth?

You need an OBD dongle and a security bypass cable.

You can get a Bluetooth model or wired dongle. Mine is Bluetooth.
