Trans fluid quantity

I am going to change the filter & fluid in my trans.,8 sp. What I have been reading, 4 qts. seems what is needed. Anyone needed more? I am ordering on line and want to order enough. Thank-you, Nick

I haven't got it done yet. I bought a pan/filter but I need to get the fluid. Things have gotten a little crazy and this will happen sometime down the road.

How many quarts did you end up using?

On the 8 speed, it’s somewhere in the 8-10qts range. That’s about how much they take from a valve body change. So just pan and filter might be a little less.

I just did my 6 speed and drain pan, and filter change was 7 Qts. so 8 Speed is at least that
