trans go shift kit

Im getting my converter installed pretty soon but the guy that is going to install it says that he will only do the install if he drops the pan and changes out the oil and filter which is fine with me i was going to get it done sooner or later since the truck has 27k miles but he also said he will also only do it if i also get a trans go shift kit installed which ive heard from others helps the tranny shift faster so saves the life of the tranny a little bit but my question is do they even have a trans go shift kit thatll work with the 2012s? i know the transmission is the same but im not sure if the change to the valve body will make the shift kit used on older trucks not work on mine? if anyone has any info on this please let me know

Not sure if they have the kit or not, but I do know if there is one don't go any higher than stage 2. Had a stage 3 in an old ford C4 trans and it barker through every gear. Mind you I also built that trans to make sure it didn't break any hard parts when it did shift that hard.

I don't think it will work. The valve body is different. I called Transgo for my '13 and they said they don't have a kit for mine. Sounds like he is trying to rack up the bill. Try another place. If he doesn't know that the kit doesn't work for your truck then why would you trust him with the install.

no he wasnt going to charge me more for installing the kit at all just for the converter but he says he does that because it prolongs the life of the transmission which i have heard that before i just didnt know if it would work... is your 13 a 6 speed?

Yeah. 65rfe. I wish they did have a kit for it. I had one in my jeep and it would chirp second gear with a six cylinder. I have a sonnax line pressure booster, it seems to help with quicker shifts.

hmmm i guess ill see what he says i didnt mention that it was a 2012 to him when i told him so maybe thats why he didnt know but ill see how it goes.

what tc are you going with? i'm sure you could sell your stock one to help offset the costs. some people are interested in the r/t tc's

I have a Valve body for your truck if your interested in having it worked over to a stage II or III. 3500 miles on it, I'm keeping the sol pack just in case of any failure with the new one. Put the SharaDon stage II in with the edge 2800-3000 Hemiverter, not one problem and I like it a lot. Jerseymike this will compliment your build no more issues with low pressure at the TC. Core charge plus shipping, that's a deal considering it cost me $860 to be one of the first '13. No rush, it's not going anywhere unless you want it. PM me.

i picked up a 2800 circle d really cheap and i might consider it just going to keep it for a while till i get over the fear of tranny failure lol

The 645rfe is the same trans as the 545ref you are just able to get to the 2nd gear prime on the select shift.

SharaDon said that the Valve Body is different. I posed the same question to them. Mechanically the same Transmission but some minor differences in Valve body. Call Danny, he can fill you in with the details.

Ok. I found the old link. Moes used to sell the Sharadon valve body but it was taking to long to get them out the door so he stopped. Here is the link. It clearly shows the valve body is different on the 2011+

The transgo shift kit is just an accumulator plate, higher pressure springs, and o-rings.

I've got a 06 vb in my truck right now... Can't be that different. I'll look a the 12vb tomorrow and see if I can see a difference in the plate.
