That's wicked! Is that for the first plug or the one with the brake switch in it?

All of that led down a path to this (note the mating non-delphi part number) do note, though, that I havent seen the inside of the mating connector to see if all the pins are there (I assume if it all matches up you could just add some)

You guys making any progress with this project?

I've already swapped in a 44-45, which has been working flawlessly, but im still curious.

This mod to bypass the programming limitations seems like it may give most of the benefits of a fully meshed chain driven transfer case without the cost of a full replacement.

I've been using the new setup I designed which uses the factory plugs inside the cab (previous design was on the t case plug) without any issues. It does in fact make the 44-44 act like a direct drive transfercase with the switch turned on. It's really handy but easier to get into trouble now because I'm too confident. Haha
More factory plugs are on their way and when they arrive this project will be in full swing and available to purchase. [emoji106]

Out of curiosity, what would happen if you left this switch accidentally on while in 2wd?

It would Power the transfercase coils that should Be it as the t case has to be in whatever selected gear and the t case motor has to slide the gear forks in to lock it up. If that makes sense. Other than that it might slightly turn the front driveshaft but I've had it on driving before without issue.

Hey hemi. I wanted to be able to confirm an answer on your question. So my truck.
When in 2wheel still Rotates the front shaft in stock configuration, I can turn the front shaft by hand still. With the switch on and in 2 wheel drive I can still turn the shaft but it has much more resistance so I'd assume it's turning the chain and sprocket inside the t case. I'm going to drive it 10-15 miles right now in 2 wd with switch on and see what happens. I don't forsee any issues though.

Awesome man thanks for checking that out for me!
Not a problem. Want to make sure everything is 100% Thanks for identifying something I needed to check. I never thought of that at all.

If it spins everything in the xfer case while in 2WD with the switch on, is that not bad for the xfer case and/or clutches?

I don't think I will hurt anything. Won't hurt the clutches ar they're locked already. Everything would be spinning inside but would be lubes still. Basically be running like it would be if it was engauged except no torque going through the transfercase from The engine just freewheel. That's why I tested it so far to make sure, that said it should only be used in 4x4 but there's always that oops moment where ya forget to turn it off. I've done it a few times but not that far.

So looks like I won't be able to mount the switch where I was going to originally. I had thought the bottom of my 4x4 switch was just a blank plate perfect for the switch. But when I saw the back side of it while I was hardwiring my dash cam, the plug for the 4x4 switch is right there and it looks like there might be a circuit board inside as well...b87063a2614c7aa0dcba3e5b0b15f193.jpgae5f31cd5276093ca43a7001745cc57c.jpg
