I have a grinding sound coming from my transmission. It doesnt change with what gear its in. Idk what transmission is in the truck its a 2001 1500 sport 5.2. It randomly hard downshifts and upshifts for no apparent reason. Im going to try and upload a video. Im thinking torque converter but im open to other suggestions. Thank you for helping

Sounds like the tq bolts are hitting the inspection cover.

Well it seems a little bit better. Not sure tho. It shifts fine... my gas pedal has a hard spot if i go past that point it will not upshift untill i put it in neutral or park. Could my kickdown lever be sticking? Also i didnt see any loose bolts on my torque converter and my oil was clean and had very few metal flakes nothing that i wouldnt have expected so im still stumped on the grinding noise

Figured out the problem. The kickdown lever was stuck in the full throttle position. Disconnected and now is driving fine. No full throttle downshifts but i can live with that for now untill i get it to free up. The grinding is also getting quiter. Maybe it just needed to be driven (first time in 2 years)
