Transmission Oil Fluid Leak - Help Identifying Location

My 2015 RAM 1500 Sport seems to have developed an oil leak around the transmission area. I can't quite pinpoint the origin of this fluid and whether it's a failed gasket between the transmission pan and housing, or whether this could be originating from higher up. Based upon the attached photos, could I please have some assistance from better trained eyes as to what could be the cause of this leak?

Degrease the engine and transmission then look for source of leak. Could have been oil spilled while adding at a change . Clean it up then find tif it’s a leak or just someone missing the hole.

Thanks for the reply, @Daw14. I've cleaned the area down today and will monitor over the coming weeks. Definitely not an overspill and the underside was bone dry last time I inspected the underside, a month ago.

Do you have the 5.7 V8 or 3.6 V6 engine? I ask because the 3.6 has the oil filter housing/cooler in the valley of the engine between the cylinder banks. It’s known to leak and drain oil and or coolant down the back side of the engine onto the bell housing leaving an oily mess underneath the truck.

Did you check the valve cover bolts,they can loosen overtime,might not be your issue,but probably worth checking them though

I did have to torque down the intake manifold bolts last year due to a small weep. However, I will now take a look at the valve cover bolts too. Do you happen to know what torque these should be at, in the event I do spot any leaks in this area?

I just use a small 1/4" ratchet to snug them up,but i think they call for about 70 in-lbs / roughly 6 lb-ft.I don't really trust torque wrenches when the torque is that low,i trust my hand on a 1/4" ratchet more,lol

Looks like to me the fill plug on the trans needs a new O-Ring !!!!
