Hello all, this if my fist post here. I have already used the search and have found nothing about my issue.

Just like a lot of other people my screen delaminated a a couple months back and the dealer did not want to replace it since I was no longer under warranty, (Currently at 46K), I also don't want to shell out $1200. I undertook the job of removing the radio and seeing if i could clean the goop underneath and i did, it took about an hour but as soon as I finished I dropped the digitizer and it crack (FML). The fix is very straight forward, I can take the radio out and apart in about 5 mins, not including removing the glue.

Now im having trouble finding the correct digitizer for my truck. I know the part # for the LCD Screen is LA084X01-SL01, but for some reason no one lists the digitizer under a different part # even though it has its own. The digitizer i need is 6002L-0278A, though everything for sale is a 6850L-1383A. I have ordered 3 different digitizers and they all show up as the latter, even though the pictures and sellers claim they will work.
Let me save anyone else some time, THEY WONT. the ribbon cable routes are different from one another, therefore the radio will not recognize the digitizer.

HAS ANYONE FOUND THE CORRECT DIGITIZER?? any help would be greatly appreciated. I am driving around without a radio and its annoying to say the least.

Thanks in Advance.

It looks right to me? What year radio are you trying to replace the screen on?

Yes it looks correct but the ribbon cable is incorrect and won't be recognized by the radio. There are 2 different digitizers. They both look exactly the same, but have different ribbon cables. And by that i mean the electrical connections within the ribbon cable are different.

The truck is a 2018.

Can you post a picture of yours? What is your screen part number?

The part# of the actual LCD screen is LA084X01-SL01, the part # for the digitizer is 6002L-0278A. I know it says it will fit the LCD screen, but as i stated it will not register the digitizer because the ribbon cable wiring is different.

I have a couple broken ones. I'll take a look and see if we can compare part numbers.

OK, just confirmed two different SL01 screens have two different digitizer P/Ns.

I would think they would be interchangeable revisions though...what makes you think they are pinned differently?

Ahh intersting. If you look at the picture i uploaded of the 6850L, it's different than your 6850L. Your are 100% interchangeable. But the ones i have received are not the same as yours. I wonder why.

Yeah, I see it now...no flipping idea on the why though? Is your radio factiry? Installed?

No worries. I appreciate you taking the time to check that out for me. Might just be the digitizers I'm getting are incorrect since you have a 6850L that looks like mine.

Alright so the one I received today was the correct one.

https://ebay.us/Q8W38g as of 9/29/21, this is the correct 6002L-0278A digitizer.

Around $150 shipped.

It did not come with preapplied tape, which i expected, so i had already ordered 3mm clear double sided tape from Amazon (pictured). I applied the tape first to the DIGITZER side, using the black border as a guide. As long as it's behind that it won't be seen or affect anything. That's there the original tape is placed. The touch zones are slightly more noticeable to me, but also might be due to the fact that my old screen was pretty beat up from normal use. Definitely going to apply a screen protector.

Let me know if anyone has any questions. This was a pain in the *** for me so any help i can provide to anyone else is great. Spent around $1000 on digitizers until I found the right one. (Don't worry I'm getting refunds on all the incorrect ones.)

So, did you leave LOCA out completely and just affix the digitizer with the double sided tape only?
