I see a lot of posts about bed lighting here and I found a 20.00 over the counter product today that works pretty darn well. It's the Craftsman brand LED light strip from Lowe's. Almost identical to the Access battery powered but minus the shipping costs. Plus a three year warranty for 20 bucks.

For reference, the access light runs about 40.00 and is 18 inch long. The Lowes/Craftsman is 20.00 and is 19.25 inches long. Both take 3 AA batteries.

Nice local find.....
Or you can do these for a bit more with no batteries.
They are full bed length and flexible to clear obstacles and obviously VERY bright at oh dark thirty!!

I used almost an entire roll of waterproof LED strip lights putting then in the bed of my buddies 2500 w/8' bed. I added an On/Off safety shut-off switch and wired them to the +12 volt wire that goes to the trailer 7 pin plug(always powered). He said they work really well when he has to hook up his fiver hitch in the dark.IMG_20161016_154801759.jpg2016101695194123.jpg

Have to be honest.....
I use two of these(magnets or 3M tape on back) one on each side at the rear of the bed facing fwd. Works like charm!
