Truck is shaking, what a shocker

So new tires and lift is what I'm hearing from everyone. Which ill say I'm defiantly not objected to. I have had friends that have had RC installed on their trucks and have had absolutely no problems, then there are the nightmares we have all seen and heard. I believe once I get into the shop this Friday I am going to have them quote me a whole new 6" lift.

Does any one know if the **** Cypek tires are worth getting again? I like the look of them but I don't want a super hard or super soft tire either. Also is there anyone that has a connection for 37X12.50X20 tires I have looked at some places and they seem to be way overpriced for what they are. If anyone has a good website I am all ears.

Your friends are part of the 30% group that lucked out and didn’t have any problems with their RC suspensions. As far as the tires go your choices are
Toyo, nitto, Falken, Mickey Thomson and Cooper if it doesn’t have one of these names it’s a waste of money.

Last year tires steadily went up 8% a month for 6 months so they will all seem to be very expensive

I would buy the D!ck Cepek tires but only if they are the Extreme Country ones , but you might have a hard time finding them as they have been discontinued and not too many places have a full set left ..

Go for new tires. Sounds like you got a belt moving around. Since you need them anyway that's a good place to start.

Good Evening, I am in need of help and I am hoping someone will know what to do. I am a new Ram owner.. Woo Hoo, after years of being a GM guy I made the switch. When I reach speeds of 50-65 MPH I get a bad vibration throughout the entire truck which is rather annoying. I am hoping someone can give me some insight due to some of the factors I am going to list.

So the background on my truck, bought it used with close to 100k on it. My truck has a rough county lift (I know its terrible but hey it was already on there) that is either 4" or 6", it has 20" moto metal wheels, with **** Cypek 37X12.50X20 tires. The front tires are rather worn and I knew when I bought it I was going to have to replace the tires, which is no big deal.

From speeds 0-50 MPH I usually have no problems, but once I reach like 51-55 MPH the entire truck shakes front and rear for what ever reason. I live in Missouri so the vehicle has to have a safety inspection before it can be sold. I was able to check all points where a vibration could come from and nothing is loose or has any play and the wheels appear to not be bent. I am at a loss should I just start over and replace the entire lift kit, tires, ect. or is there anything anyone knows that can help a brother out.

I am absolutely in love with the Ram it runs better than any brand new truck I have ever bought. I would hate to have to trade it in on something else and start over with the market prices today. I love the 4th Gen body style and I do not want to get rid of this truck I am just worried I cannot get it fixed.

I have seen several posts and some folks cant seem to get it figured out. So I am hoping someone has had a similar problem with the aftermarket parts I have.

Don't buy new wheels or tires...Buy a set of wheel hub centers to Match de aftermarket wheels.... Thats it's what causes they vibrations....

I agree start with putting on good tires and a wheel balance from a reputable tire shop !
If tire don't correct it it could also Be a rear drive shaft through it weight for balance or who ever owned the truck prior put U-joints in and did not center them properly or they are getting worn out ! No Need to spend money on lift kits when not needed until you check all the obvious of moving parts! But first thing First is TIRES!!! and good ones!!! Please keep us posted !

45 - 65 mph is tire balance / wear / issues
65+ is suspension / drive train issue....

If the tires have a heavy scalloping then you need to look at shock replacement to start.

*UPDATE* sorry I haven't posted this sooner, deer season took over. Just as it does for most of us.

So I took my truck to my local 4 wheel drive shop. I advised them of the situation, they told me to drop it off and they would let me know, Yada Yada Yada.

About an hour later they called me and gave me the diagnosis.... TIRES! Big shocker. They also advised me my steering rack was loose which was causing the violent vibration. They tightened the rack up and gave it back and quoted me a price on some new tires.

I drove it on the highway to check and see if the vibration settled down, which it did tremendously! But there is still a vibration from the tires.

Now my fellow Ram enthusiasts, I need your help once again. I don't want cheap junk tires, but I want to know who has the best bang for my buck. Any suggestions on a wholesaler or retailer would be appreciated!!!!

Also, how old is your power steering fluid? Change if old.

I have a 2016 Ram 2500. The death wobble is from trucks between 03 to 09 I believe and I don't think it was the tires that caused it. Anyways, my truck also shakes, at all speeds now. I have had my bearings replaced, pulleys replaced, and tires balanced twice. Still shakes and bounces, if you figure it out please let us know, mechanics seem at a loss.
