I have a 2016 3500 with Diesel engine, yesterday I drove home to drop some stuff off and when I went to leave again the truck would not start, when I put the key fob in it will turn but nothing happens, no dash lights only odometer, no dinger that key is in ignition if the door is open, if the door is open with no key and turn on headlights with door open it will say lights on and outside temp reads -40, I tried my my spare fob and nothing, my truck is blocking my driveway and I can’t get it out of gear, I checked fuse 51 and it’s good. Please help.

I also disconnected the battery for 30 seconds with the head lights on and reconnected, no change.

Maybe your PCM is fried.

Could it be some kind of Killswitch? Is there an alarm on the truck?

Check all your fuses to see if any of them are fried... Start with the larger ones

You've got some great advice here, Mark. If you decide to have this looked at by your Ram dealer, let us know. We're available available via direct message and would be happy to help.

I’m sorry but I don’t know what the PCM is, do you know a way to test it?

PCM = power control module. The other thing to check is the fuel pump.

There is a big plug on the left side of the driver's side foot well. Check to see if that has come apart. There may also be another big connector mounted to the frame under the driver's side(but that one has been on 1500's), not sure if you'll have a similar one.

Could be a million things. If you need to move it, there is a shifter override under the steering column. Put e-brake on and apply brake, then use a small screwdriver to push up inside the hole under the right side of the steering column and you should be able to shift it out of park. Here's a video on it. It's also in your owner's manual.

Checked all the molex plugs I could find, apparently this is a common problem, had it towed to the dealership, it ended up being the part the fob goes into, it was replaced and works fine.
Thanks for the input.
