From my understanding , when Diablo releases tuning for the 2015 ram you will need to purchase a new PCM as well. I am curious about the process for returning the truck to stock tune. Do you just install the original PCM ? Any insight on how this process would work?

I believe the way they are doing, at least for the Jeep Wrangler, you can either buy a new ECM or you can send them yours . Which would mean some downtime for your truck until you get it back.

I think sending your PCM away is a one time thing so that they can jail break it. After that it can be tuned (or reset to stock) on the fly like any other year of truck. Matt has talked with Diablo, he has the scoop. MAAAAATT!!!

there was a thread on here talking about the HP tuners having to do the same thing. I think they were offering a package that came with the tuner and another PCM/ECM so you could just swap it for dealer visits....

From what I have been told, you can either purchase a new PCM from Diablo that is ready to accept a tune, or you would need to send yours in to be flashed by them. For the sake of keeping your factory warranty, you would want to purchase the new PCM from Diablo. I believe they are flashing a 2014 tune file onto the 2015 PCM to allow the tuner to work, so I'm assuming this will void any warranty on the truck unless you had your original 2015 PCM to plug back into the truck.

Which would likely double the cost of current tuning I assume since a new PCM won't come cheap!

That's correct...you would need to buy the PCM as well as the tuner. If I had to guess, I would say the PCM from Diablo will run in the $700 range.

Thanks for chiming in Matt, so if I'm understanding you correctly we would be looking at around $1200 for pcm & tuner?

That's my best guess. Diablo has not publicly listed pricing yet, but I'm assuming it will run about that amount.

Gotcha, thanks bud... Obviously nothing has been officially released so it's just conjecture at this point but I appreciate the info!

If I could keep my warranty with a new PCM I would think it's well worth the the money . Either way my 2015 R/T will hit 12's regardless

Its not a Diablo thing, its a Mopar thing. This is the only way Diablo has found to be able to tune these computers. It would be much easier for them to not have to sell a PCM with the tuner, but that is just the only option. HPT had to do the same thing.

Yes, I've read that on the Hellcat forums.

BUT!!! Nobody knows if that will pass at the dealer, there's rumblings about the dealer can see the original pcm was taking out. Miles won't match, Vehicle count starts etc....

Because like stated the 2015 PCM's haven't been cracked, but they have found a work around for now.

It's a gamble :naughty:

So this is the produce with the 2015s

" Ecu needs to be sent to them to have bootloader flashed to a non encrypted one. Once that's done you can read and write calibration data. From there tuning is just like any other car."

Still wonder about warranty issues.

Why do they (fiat) have to be ***** like this? Don't they see that a lot of us buy these things SO THAT WE CAN mod them??? Why lock the **** down so tight?

Soon the factory air intakes will be an all-in-one fender-intake-throttle body unit and the exhaust will just be a one piece system welded to the heads. Rims? forget about it... whole axle swap.
