I also have a 2016 ram 2500 with a 6.4 I have the same knock. It started at 15,000 miles. I have 48,000 now. Just got it back from the dealer my exhuast has no leaks. But Chrysler won’t let them into the engine to find it they just claim the 6.4 is a noisy engine. I have changed the
Muffler I put a flowmaster 40 series. I can still here. I gues Chrysler figure it won’t blow up till after the warranty is up

At one point I made an polished exhuast tip cut the resonator off welded it on. The truck droned horribly would rattle your teeth out at under 1800 rpm. So I welded resonator back on. So change the muffler but leave the resonator.

I bought a FM super 40, 3 ft 3.5" pipe. and muffler clamps. removed the stock muffler, added about 30" of pipe, left the resonator and the pipe in front of it still on, bolted it together, where the OEM muffler was. Worked fine not too loud, no drone except when in MDS, ever so slight. I always turn it off anyway. Did it in the garage, by myself , with the wheels on a set of ramps. After 5 months later it was slightly loosening (clamps), put a few tack welds at the joints re-tightened, and added an "L" shaped hanger, right behind the muffler. Rock solid. here's the muffler I used. Total under $200.

It's annoying when I focus on it.
I've kinda sorta gotten used to it but not really if you know what I mean.

Tried to pinpoint it for ammo when I bring it to dealer but I just can't. It's just "all in" the exhaust system.

My best description of this sound would be half between engine ping and an exhaust leak, more of a manifold/gasket kinda leak.

Whatever. **** it. I'm trying to get my old '02 running again, as soon as that happens I'm selling this thing.
