So here I was ready to heap praise on my local Ram dealer for the quick U-61 recall service it did on my '16 Rebel, but now I must throw shade! Why? Because my cruise control doesn't seem to work!

Funny, since it worked perfectly before it went in! Now, sadly, it will not engage. Has anyone else had this happen after a dealer performed the U-61 recall?

I'm pretty steamed but I guess I should've checked it upon leaving the dealership...at least I could've turned around and handed the keys back the same day!

Ugh...will keep y'all posted!

My 18 was updated Saturday. Only took 30 minutes to update. I didn't bother to check to see if the cruise works. I'll check it tomorrow.

Hmmmmm, I better check mine. I already have a problem with the recall/reflash having screwed up my factory Aux Switches. The dealer is waiting on FCA to formulate an answer. I have not tried the cruise.

You're the second person I've seen with the cruise control not working at all after the flash. Definaly not having mine done yet!

I got my cruise control reprogrammed a few weeks ago and it’s actually been better. The cruise control actually engages without having to put my thumb through the button haha

My '15 Big Horn 2500 got the update 2 weeks ago and no issues with the cruise so far.

My 2016 3500 has always had an intermittent cruise control engagement initial arming issue. Once it arms or shows ready no issues in use.

What is the u61 update?

From the Mopar site:

Though this upgrade addresses an unlikely sequence of events that may compromise cruise-control functionality, FCA is taking this action out of an abundance of caution.

The Company is recommending that affected customers avoid using cruise control until their vehicles are equipped with the upgraded software.

FCA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS and AFFECTED VEHICLES:
The FCA campaign numbers for vehicles affected by this Safety Recall are U49, U59, U60, U61, U62, U63, U64, U65, U66 and U68.

These recalls involve the following vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions and gasoline-powered engines:
  • 2015-17 Chrysler 200 sedan

I use my cruise control all the time. If it doesn't turn on I tap the steering wheel and then it works, but one time it wouldn't turn off. It took four times hitting the off button while mashing the brakes. Not a fun experience. My recall service is scheduled for Friday morning.

that sounds like you need to also have the connections and wiring checked for the cruise control switch while you are also having the recall done

As I said in the original post, my cruise worked flawlessly since I purchased the Reb a few years ago. Heck, just before the recall service, we went down to Rockport (Texas) and back...no issues at all. Now, nothing happens when I try to use it. My plan is take it back after work today (and have them chauffeur me back home, hah!). I trust it'll be a quick fix...I should ask them to turn on the DRLs as, you know, lagniappe for my troubles!

I had my CC recall done a week or so ago and never had a chance until yesterday to check it. It works as it did before, seemingly OK. There is very little flatland around here, and a lot of hilly terrain, which is the cause for the delay in checking.
