Hi all,
I took my truck to a mechanic to diagnose the check Engine light and they told me it was the active grill shutter and it was nothing that made the vehicle unsafe. The two codes that were coming up were the ones in the title, U0140 and P1D73. I got a code reader since then to keep an eye on it, see attached photos.
my question is Should I attempt to repair this myself or take some of the shutters off? Come inspection time I don’t think I am going to pass due to the check engine light being on. Basically is this something I need to address ASAP? Or in hot weather? I am planning a trip to the southwest in the heat with my truck.
should I just **** it up and pay for it all? Or erase the codes so it at least passes inspection and deal with it when I can? I’m a grad student so money can be tight!
any insight would be appreciated
