Uconnect 3.0

So I bought my truck a couple weeks ago used and the media hub would light up but you had no power from the USB and the aux didn't work either I mostly listen to xm anyway no big deal I took it to the dealership and found out the wonderful uconnect 3.0 or RA1 is faulty I asked if I could upgrade to 5.0 and he said he would see what he can do

you should be able to upgrade to the 5.0 they both use the same harness. It's the 8.4 radio that uses the different harness and controls...

Warranty people are saying it is a preexisting condition and will not cover it

But they are replacing your 3.0 right? If you wanted to upgrade to the 5.0 yourself it should work...

Warranty people said they will not. Over it because it is a pre existing problem so waiting to see what the dealership I purchased the truck from says about replacing it

Something should have been said prior to signing papers if the radio didn't work properly then. I wouldn't imagine Chrysler warrantying the radio after fact, ever.

Every used vehicle I bought, I would make a small list of things that needed to be looked at and/or fixed (no matter how small) and would give them this list prior to signing any papers. Most of the time, the bigger things would always be taken care of, which made me forget about the littler things.

I think you're gonna be on your own with this one, and it may be cheaper to go aftermarket even after factoring in the interface that you more than likely need to buy.

Your truck is a '13?? Well it has a bumper-bumper warranty, tell the warranty people that the owner people said to replace it, period!!!! I would be pissed if I ever had to 'wait and see', it's basically a new vehicle, should have plenty of factory warranty left. If it was a 'preexisting problem', then why the h*ll didn't it get 'prefixed' at that time and place???
Tell the dealer to replace it and anything else is unacceptable to you.

Anyone know if you can replace the 3.0 with the 5.0 and if so is it plug and play?
