Uconnect 5.1 new issues

Hey everyone,

First I have to let you know that I have searched this forum, and several other forums for an answer to this, Google'd it and spoken to my useless RAM dealer's service dept. and so this is my last hope.

I'm having an issue with the 5.1 that I can't seem to find a fix for and I wanted to reach out to see if anybody had a fix and answers to a few questions that I have about the 5.1...

Questions:
1. Is there a way to Reset the unit using a combo of mechanical buttons/driver door etc?
2. What is the fuse number for the Radio, because after searching through the manual and the fuse box I can't find it anywhere?
3. Where can I find the latest version no. of the firmware online? I have been to the website where it says there is an update available, but is there somewhere I can view the firmware update history?

Here's the issue:

I bought the truck and had no issues with the radio until recently. I had been using an iPhone 6S+ synced with the 5.1 and then I swapped my phone with the same model and I forgot to change the pairing info. After I paired the phone it was constantly ...'ing looking for my contacts when I pressed the recent calls button or contacts button. Eventually I would get tired of waiting and try to 'exit' the screen. It froze.

It froze every time. Now it has reset a few times and it remains ON and lit up constantly and as well, the lights to the HUD (Tach and RPM guages) are lit up constantly as well. There is no volume control for radio or for Bluetooth/USB with my iPhone 6S+. I don't know what's going on.

Recap of Issues:

1. Volume button doesn't show Volume Bars and Volume No.
2. Screen remains ON no matter what I do and won't turn off when exiting and locking the doors.
3. Lights remain ON constantly on the HUD (Gauge cluster).

I have tried:
1. Clearing personal info
2. Unpairing the iPhone and pairing it again
3. Unpairing the iPhone
4. Resetting to default settings in the Radio Settings
5. Pulling the Bluetooth Fuse (47)
6. Holding the MUTE/(ENTER/TUNE) buttons to soft reset the unit
7. Downloading the firmware update after putting in my VIN which is now going on a 2 hour install inside the truck using these instructions:

UPDATE: It's now 3.5 hours and the battery is dead. Checked 30 mins ago and there was a 'uconnect' as shown here (which had been on for 3 hours):

Side note: the gauges were still lit up when the battery was dead but the screen was black. After jumping the battery the truck is now idling while charging the battery and the screen is still on the 'uconnect' logo.

Found the in-line fuse for the radio just behind the battery and pulled it. The 5.1 turned off and the gauges turned off. I put the fuse back in and the gauges went off but the P/R/N/D/+- ticked every 5 seconds or so and then flicked off and back on...


I ended up pulling the fuse again and letting it sit for a bit and then put it back in. The gauges turned off completely now but the 5.1 screen stays on, so I pulled the fuse again and left it for now until I can get some answers from somewhere.

Called uconnect USA support and Canada support and both told me how to reset the radio:

Put key into ignition and turn to RUN position
Press VR and Phone buttons (on steering wheel in my case) for 30 seconds
Turn key to OFF position
Open driver door for 30 seconds (or until HUD screen goes black)
Close driver door

This did not resolve the issue. The screen didn't change, nothing reset and both customer service reps were confused. Still no closer to a resolution on this one and it has me scratching my head.
